Kat Lambert started singing at a very early age and joined a local neighborhood all-girl, all-youth run performing group in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. The group, called The Philadelphia Children’s Theatre, achieved local notoriety, and eventually performed on TV shows, including Kids World and Evening Magazine. They went on to shoot a commercial for the movie version of Annie on PBS. Kat performed with the group until high school, at which point she switched to choir and glee club and began taking vocal lessons from Sister Marilyn Granahan.
Kat’s musical tastes were influenced by her parents and an early exposure to Mac Davis, Kenny Rogers, and The Carpenters on 8-track and vinyl. Kat attended Temple University in Philadelphia and graduated with a degree in Theatre. Kat joined a few bands on stage in the Philadelphia area in the 90s for covers, but her first official band is the newly formed The New Normals.
Kat currently lives in Manayunk, PA, and owns a local dog walking and pet sitting service called Kat Cares. She is an alternative music connoisseur, and loves to collect vinyl, especially from artists like Ryan Adams, Dawes, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, Grace Potter, The Black Keys, Foo Fighters, Frightened Rabbit, Jeff Buckley, Desert Noises, Sia, Brandi Carlisle, Big Thief, First Aid Kit, Kings of Leon & Arctic Monkeys.
